2025–2026 DEC SFQC Attachment-Focused Leadership Series

WestEd, in partnership with the San Francisco Department of Early Childhood
(DEC) and San Francisco Quality Connections (SFQC), is pleased to announce a
year-long professional development opportunity for qualified center-based program
leaders. This pilot program, which focuses on the integration of attachment theory
into early childhood program leadership and supervision.

The DEC SFQC Attachment-Focused Leadership series includes in-person
meetings, assigned readings, and reflective writing exercises. Training content
focuses on the infant/toddler period (birth to age 3).

As a group, participants and facilitators meet for 22 hours of training over ten
monthly sessions. Participation in the leadership series also includes attendance at
the spring 2026 DEC SFQC Infant/Toddler Conference. With the exception of the conference, all meetings will take place on
Wednesdays at the WestEd office (730 Harrison Street). There is no Zoom option for
the DEC SFQC Attachment-Focused Leadership series.

This Series is for Center-based program leaders (e.g., directors, site supervisors) serving infants
and toddlers, with direct supervision of staff. The 2025–2026
leadership cohort is limited to 10 participants and is offered in English.
