This full-day, in-person training equips early childhood educators working with children ages 2–5 to better understand the neurobiology of trauma and the science of healing, hope, and resilience. The morning session focuses on research-based insights into how trauma impacts young children’s development and learning, while the afternoon provides practical strategies to build nurturing, responsive, and healing-centered classrooms. Participants will leave with concrete tools to design trauma-responsive environments and support children experiencing trauma with greater confidence and care.
To sustain learning, six follow-up Peer Learning Circles (PLCs) will provide structured opportunities for reflection and practice. In these sessions, educators will use structured protocols to unpack strategies from the training, examine challenging situations, share successes, and celebrate progress. PLCs will strengthen collaboration across diverse settings while helping educators deepen their trauma-responsive practices over time.
