Participants will:
- Gain a deeper understanding about language acquisition
- Discuss the importance of using the home language to enhance development
- Acquire new insights about the relationship between language, culture and learning
- Identify best practices for promoting optimal language and literacy development
- Share their own strategies to engage and partner with diverse families
- Practice “Interactive Reading”, a reading technique that uses objects to enhance understanding and receive a beautiful children’s book for their classroom
- Plan differentiated strategies to support individual language needs at school
