Preschool TK Learning Foundations (Approaches to Learning)

This training is a new document created by CDE to think about skills that help children (birth – 5 ½ years of age) engage in learning, problem-solving, interacting with peers/adults, and adapting to changing demands. Early learning programs (preschool, TK, family child care, etc.) can use this framework to guide observation, goal-setting, planning, and inclusive, developmentally appropriate practice. These skills (curiosity, initiative, persistence, attention, flexibility, collaboration) are important for school readiness and continue to matter through elementary school—and even into adulthood.
– Audience: Anyone working with children under 5 ½ year of age (FCC, TK teachers, Early Learning providers)
