03\/02\/2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Facilitators: Zoila Cartagena, Olga Lacayo y Eliana Elias <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All humans have the extraordinary ability to speak many languages.\u00a0 Come learn more about how you, as an early childhood educator, can support children and their families in their journey to acquiring one, two, or more languages!<\/p>\n<p>Participants will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gain a deeper understanding about dual language acquisition.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the connection between language and culture.<\/li>\n<li>Identify best practices to enhance oral language and literacy.<\/li>\n<li>Share strategies to engage with diverse families.<\/li>\n<li>Plan for individual language needs in their classrooms.<\/li>\n<li>Create a \u201clanguage plan\u201d for their classroom.<\/li>\n<li>Practice ways to engage children even when you don\u2019t speak their language.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize themselves with the Head Start DLL Program Assessment Tool<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>INFORMATION: Links will be sent to participants one week prior to the workshop. <strong>Participants must attend all three workshops to receive PD credits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Language: \u00a0English Time: 9:00 AM \u2013 12:00 PM Dates:01\/27\/2024, 02\/17\/2024 &amp;
